Dr. Holden is the Principal Investigator (PI) of a new project applying social network science to study and improve the change in medication safety awareness and behavior. The project is a partnership between the IU Center for Aging Research (Drs. Holden, Campbell, Boustani, and Monahan) and the IU Network Science Institute (Drs. Eddens, Krendl). A new 10-year mapping review of the field of patient ergonomics, authored by Holden, Cornet, and Valdez, is now available from the journal Applied Ergonomics. For a limited time, the article can be accessed free of charge.
The R2D2 trial is an R01 led by Dr. Noll Campbell of the Purdue College of Pharmacy. It will test a pharmacy-based anticholinergic deprescribing intervention for older adults. Campbell co-directs the Brain Safety Lab with Dr. Holden.
The two grants, the ICARE trial (R21, Holden and Boustani) and MOMENT trial (K23, Bateman) from the National Institute on Aging, will study whether use of the Brain CareNotes app is feasible, usable, and effective for reducing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.
