Victor P. Cornet, Ph.D. candidate the Health Innovation Lab, will be at the GSA 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting (Boston, MA) with co-author Dr. Michin Hong. They will be presenting their late-breaking work Computational Exploration of Gerontology-related Topics Shared on Social Media Platform Twitter on November 14th, 2018 (6 pm to 8 pm).
In October, Dr. Holden will give an invited presentation to the Purdue University HFES Student Chapter. He will give an overview of human factors in healthcare and talk about how student members can contribute to the Society's strategic goals.
In 2018, lab members authored eight new journal publications and nine conference papers - and the year's not over yet!
HIL members Dr. Holden and Carly Daley presented 1 podium talk, 1 poster, 2 panels, and hosted the Town Hall on Patient-Centered Human Factors and Ergonomics. Dr. Holden also spoke at the 1st Year Participants meeting and Student Career Day.
Dr. Holden will chair the newly established Task Force on HFES Position Papers. The task force will promoted and oversee the development of HFES-endorsed position papers. More details to come.
On July 1, 2018, Dr. Holden joined the IU School of Medicine as Associate Professor of Medicine, in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Dr. Holden also joins the Regenstrief Institute's Center for Aging Research (IUCAR) as an Investigator. Dr. Holden was formerly an affiliate scientist at IUCAR. Dr. Holden's new office is in the Regenstrief building, Room RF421, 1101 W 10th Street.
Dr. Holden was elected at-large member to the HFES Executive Council following the 2017 election.
Robin Mickelson won the 2017 Chapanis Best Student Paper Award from the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) for "Capturing the Medication Management Work System of Older Adults Using a Digital Diary Method," coauthored by Dr. Holden. Awarded since 1969, the Alphonse Chapanis Best Student Paper Award is given annually to the best student paper submitted to the HFES annual meeting.
