Preethi Srinivas

Preethi Srinivas, PhD

Dr. Srinivas works at Google. She was previously the Senior User Experience Designer at the Indiana University Center for Aging Research, Regenstrief Institute Inc. 

Where are you from?
I am from Chennai, which is the capital of the Indian state of TamilNadu. I received a bachelors degree in Information Technology from Anna University, also in Chennai. I moved to Miami University, Ohio in 2008, where I received a Masters in Computer Science. I shifted focus and have been training in Human-Computer Interaction at Indiana University since 2010.

Why are you here?
I am passionate about designing user experience that solves pressing and complex social and economic challenges. I am excited to be a part of Health Innovation Lab's projects geared at improving and transforming the health of older adults.

What do you do?
My research interests lies at the intersection of HCI, ubiquitous computing, computer supported co-operative work, aging care, personal and health informatics. In general, I conduct user research and design innovative health solutions.

What are your skills?
I have trained in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science since 2004. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to learn and apply several user research, design, and development techniques from many renowned scientists. I am especially skilled in mixed-methods research involving agile, rapid and iterative user-centered design process.

What are your hobbies?
I love traveling, hiking, cooking, eating, and sketching.
