Carly Daley, MS

PhD Student

Carly is a Ph.D. student in BioHealth Informatics. She has a background in psychology and discovered the field of health informatics while working in research at Parkview Health (Fort Wayne, IN) in 2011. After completing the M.S. in BioHealth Informatics in 2016, she relocated to Indianapolis to begin the Ph.D. program. She is a new member Health Innovation Lab and remains a part of the Informatics Research team at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation. 

Where are you from?
I was born in Wisconsin and I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Why are you here?
Through my work with Parkview Research Center I have developed an interest in helping people manage and understand their health, particularly in the area of cardiology. Recognizing that technology can provide people with access to information and empowerment, I pursued education in Health Informatics which led me to the PhD program at IUPUI.

What do you do?
I do research in the area of technology and health, investigating ways that people can use technology to learn, grow, and enhance quality of life.

What are your skills?
I bring energy and enthusiasm to projects.

What are your hobbies?
My hobbies involve physical fitness activities, nutrition, animals, music, and art. I love connecting music, movement, and physicality with the mind and personal expression. I have two dogs and I enjoy walks with them. I am also a birder!
