Holden to lead new $3.5M NIH grant on technology for safer brains
Dr. Holden is the principal investigator of a newly funded $3.5M NIH award for a randomized controlled trial of Brain Safe, an intervention to reduce older adults' exposure to medications whose use is linked with dementia.

Holden and Valdez to edit 2-volume handbook
Lab Director Richard Holden and colleague Dr. Rupa Valdez (University of Virginia) received a book contract from CRC Press to edit a two-volume handbook on Patient Ergonomics. This will be the first set of books on patient ergonomics or "the science of patient work," a topic of research Holden and Valdez have advanced together over the past decade.
HIL Member Going to HCI Korea
Victor P. Cornet, PhD candidate from the Health Innovation Lab, will be at HCI Korea 2019 (Jeju Island, South Korea). He will be presenting his paper Analysis of Korean Self-Harm Posts on Instagram on February 13th, 2019.
HCI Korea 2019 is the leading human-computer interaction conference in South Korea.
HIL Member Going to GSA
Victor P. Cornet, Ph.D. candidate the Health Innovation Lab, will be at the GSA 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting (Boston, MA) with co-author Dr. Michin Hong. They will be presenting their late-breaking work Computational Exploration of Gerontology-related Topics Shared on Social Media Platform Twitter on November 14th, 2018 (6 pm to 8 pm).
Dr. Holden to chair new Task Force
Dr. Holden will chair the newly established Task Force on HFES Position Papers. The task force will promoted and oversee the development of HFES-endorsed position papers.
Dr. Holden to present to the Purdue University HFES Student Chapter
In October, Dr. Holden will give an invited presentation to the Purdue University HFES Student Chapter. He will give an overview of human factors in healthcare and talk about how student members can contribute to the Society's strategic goals.
