Summary

Dr. Holden's B-PHIT Indy initiative received the 2016 Chancellor Charles R. Bantz Award from IUPUI's Office of Community Engagement and Office of the Vice Chancellor of Research. B-PHIT Indy stands for Brain-Protective Health Information Technology and is a community-based initiative to involve older adults and informal caregivers in the design and evaluation of technologies to promote the healthy aging brain and help manage mental illness.

Dr. Holden's B-PHIT Indy initiative received the 2016 Chancellor Charles R. Bantz Award from IUPUI's Office of Community Engagement and Office of the Vice Chancellor of Research. B-PHIT Indy stands for Brain-Protective Health Information Technology and is a community-based initiative to involve older adults and informal caregivers in the design and evaluation of technologies to promote the healthy aging brain and help manage mental illness.

The project is conducted with research collaborators in the IU Center for Aging Research and the following community collaborators: Joy’s House, Eskenazi Health, the Indianapolis Discovery Network for Dementia (IDND), and Mental Health American Indiana (MHAI).

Three projects are in progress through the B-PHIT Indy initiative: Fulfilling Activities, Digitizing the Care Kit, and Brain Safe.
